Learn Sloka a Day – 18th April 2024

Today we are going to learn how to chant 1st sloka from Sri Lalita Sahasranamam.

ऒं श्रीमाता श्री महाराज्ञी श्रीमत्सिंहासनॆश्वरी |
चिदग्नि-कुंड-संभूता दॆवकार्य-समुद्यता ||

ఓం శ్రీమాతా శ్రీ మహారాజ్ఞీ శ్రీమత్సింహాసనేశ్వరీ |
చిదగ్ని-కుండ-సంభూతా దేవకార్య-సముద్యతా ||

ōṁ śrīmātā, śrī mahārājñī, śrīmatsiṁhāsanēśvarī |
cidagni-kuṁḍa-saṁbhūtā, dēvakārya-samudyatā ||

Meaning:

śrīmātā: Salutations to the Divine Mother, who is the Mother of all.

śrī mahārājñī: Great Empress of the whole Universe.

śrīmatsiṁhāsanēśvarī: Great Sovereign, enthroned on the lion’s back.

cidagni-kuṁḍa-saṁbhūtā: Who came out of the fire of Pure Consciousness.

dēvakārya-samudyatā: Who promotes the cause of Divine forces.
