🌷History:
The fifth form of Maa Durga is popularly known as ‘Skanda Mata’. Skanda was another name for kumaraswama, another name for him, ‘Kartikeya.’ In the famous Battle of Devasura, he was the head of the armies of the gods. The Puranas refer to him as Shaktidhara and describe his glory. He is a peacock driver. Goddess Durga, being the mother of Lord Skanda, is famous for her being the name of the fifth swaroopa, ‘Skandamata’. Goddess Durga is worshipped in this form on the fifth day of Navratri festivities.
🌻.-Practice:
On this day, the mind of the seeker is fixed in visuddhachak- aram. Balaskandada is sitting on her lap in her murti. Skandamata ‘Chaturbhuja’- . She was holding Skanda in her lap with her right hand and appeared. She raises the other right hand and wears a lotus. On the left is a hand in abhayamudra. Another one has a lotus in it. She is a white sobhita. This goddess is on the lotus asana. Therefore, ‘Padmasana’ is famous. Simhavahana.
The puja of the fifth day of the na-night festivities is a special one. The shastras about its great greatness are praised by the Venolas.
The upasaka, who has a fixed mind in the visuddha cha- the worldly tendencies and the citta-vrittas, will cease to exist, and he progresses on the path of the form of pure consciousness. His mind is liberated from all worldly social and magical bonds, and then completely integrated into the padmasana and the form of skanda mata, seated in it. At this time the seeker should be completely attentive and proceed in the upasana. He concentrated in his meditation circles and progressed in practice.
By worshipping Skandama, all the wishes of the devotees will be fulfilled. It is in this world of death that they will experience supreme peace and happiness. For them, the door of moksha-mu is always open. The pujas performed by Skandamata belong to the child Skanda. This is the uniqueness of worshipping this goddess! Therefore, the devotees should have special attention to the worship of Skanda Mata. Since this goddess is the supreme head of the sun, she is worshipped by those who worship her- ru divyatejas-suto and swachhkanta-are worshipped. In the invisible form of a transcendental prabha-mandala- in which they are always pervading around them. This prabhamandalam takes care of their well-being every moment.
Therefore, we must concentrate and try to take refuge in Skanda Mata with pure minds. There is no better way to get rid of the sorrow of these terrible oceans and to get salvation easily.
