1What are the different types of classes you are offering?1. Pravachanam Type: We are taking classes to educate more people about a particular deity and how to see and realize that deity. These are interactive sessions.

2. Chanting (Mantras, Non-Vedic): Here we will teach to learn new slokas or correct the pronunciation.
Ex: Like Sri Lalita Sahasranamam, Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam, etc.

3. Chanting (Mantras, Vedic): Here we will teach advanced scriptures like Sri Rudram, Rudra Kramam, and Arunam.

4. Pooja Process (Kriya): Here we will teach how to do any pooja/homam.
2What is the first step to learn any scripturePlease register for the appropriate classes based on your ability and meeting prerequisites.

3What scriptures will be covered in the course?Our course covers from very foundational (like Sri Lalita Sahasranama/Namavali, Sri Vishnu Sahasranaman/Namavali) to advanced Vedic scriptures (Mahanyasam, Sri Devi Mahatmyam, Sri Rudram, Upanishads) based on the students eligubility and ability
4What is the course duration and schedule?Duration depends on the scripture. Please click here for more details.
5What is the teaching methodology?Online through Zoom. Our classes combine traditional teachings with modern approaches, including Zoom online classes for face-to-face learning, mentor sessions, practice sessions, and Q&A sessions. Guru garu makes us repeat every sloka twice and explains the meaning of each slokam. All doubts will be clarified in the class sessions.
6Do I need prior knowledge of Vedic scriptures?For foundational scriptures (like Sri Lalita Sahasranamam and Sri Hanuman Chalisa), no prior knowledge is required. Please see our class webpage for prerequisites for the respective scripture.
7What are the expectations for student participation?– Register for the classes
– Attend the classes
– Practice by yourself.
– Get your fluency assessed by the mentors.
8Are there any dress code or other formalities for attending the classes?Yes, all students should come in traditional attire after taking the bath. We request all the students to maintain self-sanctity, as the scriptures—most of the scriptures we are teaching—are mantras

– Ladies in sarees and Salwar kameez
– Gents in dhoti

As these are spiritual classes, all students are expected to attend the classes as if they are coming to temple and need to sit on the floor (you can use an asana/mat/pillow/cushion). If anyone has any medical issues, please let us know, and they can sit on the Firm base (like wood chair etc..)
9What materials will be provided?We will provide scriptures in a PDF format; you need to take a printout of it before attending the classes. The scriptures access will be given only to the students attending classes regularly.
10Can I connect with other students?Yes, We encourage student to discuss in the WhatsApp groups, Telegram, or Zooms provided by SRRP
11Are there opportunities for one-on-one mentorship?Yes, We provide mentor for a group as well as one-on-one based on student requirement and seriousness
12What topics will be covered in each class?A detailed syllabus is available on our website, teaching 10-20 slokas (based on verses) with pronunciation and meaning with proper explanations. Each student has to repeat the sloka along with guru garu so that you will be learning pronunciation, tune, and the vedic way of chanting
13Will there be opportunities for in-depth study?Yes, we’ll have dedicated sessions for in-depth exploration of specific topics. Students are allowed to join advanced topics only by clearing the basic scriptures. Clearing Sri Lalita Sahasranama is mandatory for any advanced scriptures
14How will my progress be assessed?Peer review helps the student to clear their unknown mistakes while classes are in progress. Mentor sessions will be scheduled every week, so mentor will assess you in the first level, and guru garu will assess you after completion of the course to announce you as a fluent chanter
15Will I receive a certificate upon completion?Yes, we provide certificates only to the one who has cleared our assessments.
16What technical requirements are needed for online classes?The following are required to attend the sessions.
– A stable internet connection,
– Computer or mobile device, with audio/video capabilities,
– Scripture printouts
– Notebook,
– Pencil (With sharpener) and eraser,
– Red & Black ballpoint pen, black pen for markings
17How do I troubleshoot technical issues to join the classes?Contact our admin/mentor support team via phone or through the help request available in our student portal.
18Do I need to do anything after each class?Yes, you need to practice the slokas taught in the class and submit homework by the next class, and you also need to attend mentor sessions and practice sessions without fail.
19What is the course fee, and how do I pay?SRRP is providing all the classes free of cost, but we appreciate it if the students contribute to our sankalpam of constructing the temple and Veda Patashala. Please visit our Donation page for payment details
20Will additional resources be provided?Yes, we will share audios or videos to help students to practice only based on their interests and needs. But, attending classes are mandatory
21Can I access course materials after completion?Yes, for a few days after completion of your class.
22What would be my learning process if I already learned a few scriptures from other organizations/gurus?You are welcome to join our classes even at an advanced stage, but you need to go through an assessment process to check your foundational knowledge and fluency.
23What is the post-process of the course?Students are requested to complete their homework and finish the course by attending the fluent chanter assessment. Only fluent chanters are allowed to chant in special/auspicious occasions like poornima/amavasya/Pradosha Parayanas, homas
24What kind of volunteer work can a student do? Are there opportunities for seva (service) or community involvement?Yes, We provide mentor for groups as well as one-on-one based on student requirement and seriousness
25Can I attend the classes during family sootakam?No, you are not allowed to attend the vedic classes during sootakam (one year from the day of expiry of your immediate family member)
26Can I attend the classes during my menstrual cycle?No, till completion of your cycles.
27Can kids attend the classes?Yes, kids above 10 years are allowed to attend regular classes. We have separate kid sessions for younger kids
28What if I miss any class due to unavoidable circumstances?We understand that. SRRP provides repetition classes as needed based on the number of students who missed the classes.
29What would the schedule be for the classes? How many hours per week will I need to dedicate?Max two classes per week based on your timezone, and each class lasts for 60 to 90 minutes.
30What if I live in a different time zone?No problem, SRRP came up with a different schedule to cover global student needs. You can select the class schedule based on your preference and attend the sessions.

Currently we have students from 5 different zones, like USA, India, Germany, UK & Australia.
31Can I do self-practice without peer review?We encourage to take peer review as a mandatory step, as some of mistakes are overlooked by us, which will be corrected by peers or mentors
32Can I participate in SRRP events during the course period?Yes, you are welcome to participate in kumkumarchana and other events to watch/listen. But, you are not allowed to chant without completing that course and assesements
33Can I practice slokas with YouTube?No, we don’t encourage practicing with YouTube audio or videos except for SRRP provided content, as they follow a different tune and process, and they might not apply Vedic chanting rules, which is difficult to correct yourself later.
34Can anyone attend these Vedic classes?Yes, anyone from anywhere without any doubt can attend the classes, but you should believe in sanctity rules & guru gai directions.
35Will classes be live or pre-recorded?No, all classes are live on Zoom. Students should enable their video in the class.
36Can I attend classes at my own pace?Yes, definitely. Please inform guru garu or your mentor in advance so that we will provide you necessary support
37Will the scriptures be taught in their original language?SRRP has lot of volunteer opportunities, like

– In-person peetham work like decoration, draping sarees to deities, arrangements for events, etc.

– Online support like website maintenance and audio/video editing.

– Volunteer hours will be given to high school students for their volunteer work.
38How can I stay updated on new courses or events?
