Sri Maha Ganapati Tarpanam is a ritual dedicated to Lord Ganesha, aimed at seeking his blessings, appealing to to him, and removing obstacles in one’s life. The word “Tarpana” means offering or oblation. This ritual involves offering water energized with the Ganapati mantra mixed with flowers, rice, and other sacred items to Lord Ganesha while reciting the powerful Ganesha mantra. Sri Rajarajeshwari sadhakas under the guidance of Guru Sri Ramesh Paramathmuni Garu have been offering Ganapati Tarpanas on every chaturthi with great devotion and Shraddha.

Chaturavrutti (or Chaturāvṛtti Tarpaṇam) refers to a profound, 444-fold, four-stage ritual offering dedicated to Lord Ganapati (Ganesha) within the tradition of Śrī Vidyā. The term “Chaturavrutti” roughly translates to “four-fold” or “four times,” symbolizing the multiple layers of offerings (totaling 444) meant to bring rapid spiritual and material benefits.

Required List of Items for Ganapathi Tarpan’s:

  • Sri Ganapathi idol (Murthi or Yantram or Made of turmeric)
  • Sri Lakshmi Murthi (Optional)
  • 3 Betel leaves (Optional)
  • 2 gallons of water with added Kalasam power (Elachi + edible Camphor + clove+ Gandham)
  • Pancha patra + Udddharini for personal use
  • A few flowers for pooja
  • Any Naivedyam (fruits or jaggery or food)
  • Dhoopam, deepam and Harati
  • Big Plate which can hold Tarpanam water
