Significance of Rudra Homam/Sahasra Lingarchana

Rudra is Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil forces, and this homam is dedicated to him. He can control the nine planets and thus controls time and space. Rudra Homam, when chanted with devotion and care, can directly pierce through your deepest energy layers, energize the naadis, and flush out the negative forces that influence your health and mental states.

Main benefits of conducting this Rudra Homam:
1) Remove your sins and karmic effects

2) Conquer troubles and death fears

3) Fulfill desires & Solve relationship issues

4) Protect yourself from harmful outside forces

Guidelines to attend Events (Homas/Archanas)

As we prepare for this sacred Hindu ritual, we’d like to share some important guidelines to ensure the event’s success, as instructed by Guru. Please note the following:

  • Ladies should tie up or braid their hair
  • Ladies, please wear red sarees or kurtas with dupattas (SRRP students should wear dress provided by the Peetham)
  • Volunteers should be in saree and a traditional dhoti or sharwani while helping with mandalas.
  • All the activities should be taken care of with bhakti, and participate only after bathing and wearing traditional clothes.
  • Gents, please wear dhotis and uttareeyams (a must for homam participants) or at least kurta pajama.
  • Everyone should take a bath and attend the homam in traditional attire.
  • Those with Sootakam (immediate family members who have passed away within the last year) are not allowed to sit in the homam or offer homa dravyas, but they can witness and take the blessings.
  • Ladies are kindly requested not to attend the homam within 5 days of their monthly periods as a mark of respect for the divine energies invoked during the ceremony.
  • Rithviks, who are planning to chant during the homam, should submit the ritwick registration form and should chant only after getting approvals from our Guru. All non-chanters are treated like our guests and expected to sit calmly and do meditation.
  • Parents, please take care of your children and ensure they do not touch or disturb the Fire/Mandala/yantra setups, as they are sacred, sensitive, and hazardous.
  • Please refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for at least 3 days before the homam as a mark of spiritual purification.
  • We strictly follow the process set by SRR Peetham, including puja, food, and other aspects. We kindly request your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

  • Please note that this is a time-consuming process; we kindly request your patience and understanding about timings. By following these guidelines, we’ll ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all participants. We’re looking forward to a wonderful event!!
