About Guru Poornima
Guru Poornima is the Ashada full‑moon day dedicated to honoring the Guru—the one who dispels darkness and awakens inner light. On this auspicious day, we express gratitude, seek guidance, and rededicate our lives to the path of dharma and spiritual growth.
The word Guru is derived from two root words in Sanskrit – Gu (darkness or ignorance) and Ru (remover of the darkness). Therefore, one who leads us from darkness (ignorance) to light (jnana/knowledge) is known as Guru.
Let’s all come together in celebrating our Guru Poornina on 29th Jul 2026 @ peetham, who is continuing the Guru-Shishya Parampara through teaching us many vedic scriptures and the way of living, sacrificing his time.
